I don’t remember Gene saying that but I didn’t listen to many of his shows but Scott Thompson uttered that sentence over and over and over. And he gave himself plenty of opportunity. His bad interviews provided insight into his coaching ability. He didn’t really know what was wrong. Bleak time.
